PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- A former Charlotte County deputy arrested for allegedly stalking women is out of jail on bond.

Investigators say one of the victim’s Eric Ireland stalked was his ex-lover. The victim says after she ended the relationship, Ireland would sit outside her place of employment for hours in a day, while on duty.

Documents released Thursday night say Ireland will face the charges at a hearing on September 22.

WINK News has reached out to Ireland but he has yet to contact us back.

Ireland’s arrest could have major implications. A local defense attorney not involved in the case says convictions may be overturned on investigations that Ireland worked on.

Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell says he expects some of Ireland’s cases to be reviewed now that he was placed under arrest.
