FORT MYERS, Fla. – The remnants of Tropical Storm Erika are moving through the state this evening bringing widespread and locally heavy rainfall. Since overall rainfall accumulations have already been one to four inches since Saturday, it is possible that new amounts will cause localized flooding. For this reason, a Flood Watch is in effect for our area through Monday. WINK News Meteorologists are most concerned about Southwest Florida communities that saw flooding rains earlier in July and August, as they would be most prone to flooding again. For example, the Peace River at Arcadia is already above flood stage tonight. Additional rains will threaten homes in that area. Trust WINK News to watch the radar for you and bring you storm updates.
