North Naples woman upset over continuous maintenance issues

NORTH NAPLES, Fla.- No air conditioning, leaks, and broken appliances are just some of the maintenance issues one woman tells WINK News she’s been dealing with for years.

Sylvia Carrerio lives at the Windsong Club apartments off Immokalee Road and Livingston Road.

“When there are repairs, they do not repair them, they mast the problem,” said Carrerio, who says she’s now fed up. “They’re hiding it with dry wall or they’re hiding it with something, but they’re not fixing the problem. And that’s why it becomes a bigger problem months down the road.”

In her bedroom, drywall is missing from the ceiling and there’s a hole that leaks water into a bucket on the side of Carrerio’s bed.

Her air conditioner hasn’t been working so she’s been staying at a friends house. The appliances in her kitchen are also broken.

“The refrigerator, the oven. The only way I can cook in the oven, if I have it over 500 degrees.”

While WINK News was there, crews brought another fridge but it still wasn’t working properly. They also tried to fix the air conditioning.

The county is now looking into Carrerio’s complaints. She contacted code enforcement earlier this month and they have been out to the property several times since to investigate.

Over the past four years, the county says they have received eight maintenance complaints about the apartment complex.
