Skate For Hope returns to Southwest Florida ice

ESTERO, Fla. – In its 11th season, Skate For Hope is still raising money for cancer research, awareness, and health education programs across the country.

Since the events inception in 2004 they’ve raised more than $550,000 and they’re hoping Saturday’s 5 p.m. show at Germian Arena will help them raise even more. Young figure skaters along with professional and Olympic figure skaters will show off their skills as they raise money locally for the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.

This year’s headliners include:

  • Ashley Wagner, three-time U.S. national champion and 2014 Olympic team bronze medalist
  • Emily Hughes, 2006 Olympian
  • Max Aaron, U.S. national champion
  • Adam Rippon, U.S. national silver medalist
  • Caydee Denney & John Coughlin, U.S. national pairs champions
  • Haven Denney & Brandon Frazier, U.S. national silver medalists
  • Tarah Kayne & Danny O’Shea, U.S. national bronze medalists
  • Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier, Canadian national silver medalists

Germain Arena is located at 11000 Everblades Parkway in Estero, event parking is $5.
