FORT MYERS, Fla.- Police are looking to identify a couple of lottery scam artists.

On August 13, Fort Myers police say two women introduced themselves to an elderly victim at DD Discounts located at 3253 Cleveland Avenue and convinced her they had a winning lottery ticket.

Police say the suspects told the victim they could not cash in the lottery ticket because they were not legal citizens. Then they persuaded the victim to withdraw $12,000 from her bank account and give it to them in exchange for the winning ticket supposedly valued at $395,000.

The victim gave the suspects money from her bank account and then discovered the winning lottery ticket was actually a fraud.

Police describe the first suspect as a medium build Hispanic woman in her 30s with long dark hair. She wore a light colored shirt and dark pants.

The second suspect is a Hispanic woman in her 60s wearing a tan hat, light colored blouse, white pants and carried a large purse. Both women left the scene in an SUV authorities say could have been a Nissan Murano.
