Help fight cancer with a “Freckle Lemonade”

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Thursday, August 20th is National Lemonade Day. A day to celebrate summer and the famous ice cold refreshing drink along with one national restaurant, which is not only serving up ice cold drinks but fighting cancer at the same time.

Red Robin restaurants across the country are offering free samples of their Freckle Lemonade, at lemonade stands welcoming guests at Red Robin locations on Thursday. Guests can donate money to Alex’s Lemonade Stand while they try a sample.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand is a national charity dedicated to fighting childhood cancer across the United Sates as well as raising money, awareness and researching new treatments and cures. The foundation is named after Alexandra Scott, a young cancer patient who passed away in 2004. Four years prior, Alex decided she wanted to open a lemonade stand and raise money to fight childhood cancer, today that foundation and effort continues in her name.

Red Robin Restaurants proudly serve as a national partner to Alex’s Lemonade Stand and have raised more than $600,000 for the foundation over the years and hope that days like National Lemonade Day, will help them raise even more. To join in and find a Red Robin location near you, click here.
