CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – People looking to beat the heat are heading to Harborwalk Scoops and bites. Last week, the ice cream store with a view was ranked Tripadvisor’s number one ice cream shop in America. “People from Tampa, a couple this morning, drove 40 miles just to be here and try our ice cream,” says John Pollo, ice cream shop employee. “On the first day, there was a lot of people, easily over one hundred people came in, and as the days progressed more and more people came in,” says Johnathan Wentworth, ice cream shop employee. The small ice cream shop is in Punta Gorda. It was so packed after the rankings came out, they almost ran out of ice cream. When owners Claudia and Ron Thomas head the news, they were overseas. They had to end their trip early to come back and help get the tasty treats ready for customers. On Monday, the ice cream shop stocked up on every product.
