Man attempts to rob Lehigh Acres gas station

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Authorities are looking for a man who tried to rob a gas station at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., a man driving a white extended dually truck pulled up to the Citgo located on Joel Boulevard.

Officials say the suspect was wearing a mask, black gloves and had a black firearm.

The store’s employee locked the front door to stop the man from coming inside. Authorities say the suspect began yelling at the employee from the outside, pointing the gun at him through the window and demanding that he open the door.

The suspect eventually returned to his truck. The truck is described as having a tank in the bed of the truck, with two hoses on the passenger side and a possible siphoning handle on the drivers side rear cabin.
