COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Deputies are trying to identify a man caught on camera breaking into a car and stealing a purse.

The purse was taken from the front passenger seat of a Jeep Grand Cherokee while the victim and her family stopped at the Circle K located at 13550 Tamiami Trail N.

Authorities say the victim went inside the store while her husband was outside of the SUV and her young son was lying down in the rear passenger seat listening to music on headphones.

Surveillance video shows a man entering the front passenger side of the SUV to take the purse as the victim went inside the store.

The man is described as being between 20 and 40 years old, possibly with facial hair. He was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. He was seen driving a gray two-door convertible sedan, possibly a Chrysler Sebring.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300, or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
