GOLDEN GATE ESTATES, Fla.- Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies caught a suspected burglar Tuesday afternoon moments after a woman said she found him breaking into her home.

Authorities spotted the suspect driving near Golden Gate Parkway and Collier Boulevard. Deputies stopped traffic near 39th Street Southwest as they brought the suspect out for the victim to identify.

The suspect, whose identity was not immediately released, was handcuffed and had no shirt on. The man was taken into custody about 2 miles from the victim’s home, deputies said.

Deputies said the suspect broke a bedroom window and took marijuana from the house. The woman told investigators she came home to a broken window and an SUV at her residence. She was able to describe the vehicle to deputies.

A handgun and the marijuana was found inside the vehicle, deputies said.

The sheriff’s office did not say whether the woman will face drug charges.
