FMPD confirms two shootings at three crime scenes

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Police confirm two shootings late Saturday afternoon are related.

The first shooting happened in the Dunbar neighborhood followed by another shooting at a hardware store across the street from Lee Memorial Hospital.

Police say a male in his teens or 20s was shot around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Authorities say a third location was also part of the same crime spree.

An FMPD spokesperson tells WINK News three cars were impounded from the crime spree, including two from the Dunbar scene.

Police say all of them will be searched after search warrants are obtained.

A detective tells WINK News that the car towed from the 1100 block of Whitehead Creek Loop belonged to either a “suspect or a victim.”

According to authorities, the man shot had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital by a private citizen– not by EMS.
