MGN JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say six people were arrested and a police officer was hospitalized with serious injuries after a brawl at a Jacksonville apartment complex. Lt. Michael Eason of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says most of the 50 people involved in Thursday evening’s altercation were minors. Eason tells The Florida Times-Union that two off-duty officers working security at the complex heard over police radio that a fight was imminent. When they got to the scene, Eason says they found someone with a baseball bat. Eason says a group of people attacked the officers when they tried to take away the bat. One teen was shocked with a Taser, but Eason says other officers responding to the scene “showed a great deal of restraint” and didn’t fire their guns during the brawl.
