COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- New numbers show Collier County is one of the best areas in the state to find a job.

The governor’s office says the number of professional and business jobs are growing faster in Collier County than in any other area in Florida.

Governor Rick Scott says the county added 6,000 jobs in one year.

The news doesn’t surprise Kelli Faulconer, a recruiting expert at Spherion, a company helping people find work.

“I see a lot of job growth happening. We’re getting a lot more businesses coming through that are looking for people,” said Faulconer.

Faulconer did a search online and found right now, there are more than 3,600 jobs available in the Naples area waiting to be filled.

“It’s getting to be harder and harder to find quality applicants to fill the jobs that are out there.”

According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the top five companies in Southwest Florida with job openings as of June are Community Health Systems Inc., Hertz, Brookdale Senior Living, Lee Memorial Health System and Wells Fargo.

“Health care is still a high-demand area,” said Faulconer, “and that’s going to be an area that’s going to continue to grow.”

Faulconer tells WINK News companies looking to get these positions filled are also trying to make it worth your while.

“When the recession came, we saw a huge cut in salaries in this area. But because there’s such a high demand for people right now, companies are increasing their salaries to meet that demand.”
