Authorities take down opiate dealers in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Detectives took down a pair of drug dealers peddling opiates in a SW Cape Coral neighborhood.

David Lawrence and Ricky Gomes were taken into custody on various narcotics charges.

As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence located on the 400 block of SW 15 Terrace.

Detectives seized over 250 pills of hydromorphone and buprenorphine totaling over 38.8 grams in weight. They also found $1,016 in cash.

Officials say they also found items they believe to have been traded for pills, much of which is believed to be stolen.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
