LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Governor Rick Scott paid a visit to Pineland Marina in Bokeelia on Tuesday to highlight funding to protect Florida’s environment. “Florida’s natural resources are some of the most unique and beautiful in the entire world and also help provide a foundation for our growing economy and record-breaking tourism industry,” said Scott. Through the “Keep Florida Working” budget, $2.4 million will be invested to support local environmental and agricultural projects in Lee County. “Support for water projects in Lee County enhances our work to improve the entire Caloosahatchee watershed,” said Mitch Hutchcraft with the South Florida Water Management District. More than $1.7 million will go to projects that will help protect and improve water resources.
