5 under arrest in Fort Myers drug bust

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Five people were busted in a drug operation on Friday.

SWAT and Fort Myers police conducted two search warrants in the Arlington Subdivision off of Marsh Avenue.

Police say they had received complaints of drugs sales and violence from the area’s residents, including gunfire.

The investigation revealed the two homes located on Sumter Drive were working together to sell drugs in the neighborhood.

Detectives conducted undercover operations at the locations over two months.

Sammy Luster, 19, was arrested at the first home and is facing charges of possession of heroin with the intent to sell 1,000 feet of a school.

Authorities found 5 grams of heroin, with an estimated street value of $500, 11 baggies of packaged heroin worth $220, and a rifle ammunition magazine at the first home.

Authorities arrested Pedro Shird, 20, Whitney Bronson, 28, Anthony Philyaw, 24, and Trevius Thomas, 23, at the second home.

Officials also seized a 22 caliber rifle, a stolen 40 caliber Browning Arms semi-automatic handgun, and a Smith and Wesson Revolver. In the home, authorities located 32 grams of MDMA worth $1,900, 19 grams of marijuana, and $223 in cash.
