LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A murdered Bonita Springs mother and doctor is being remembered by the people that meant so much to her, those from her church.

Sheriff Mike Scott says Dr. Teresa Sievers was targeted in a brutal attack eleven days ago.

Now we’re hearing from a woman who knew her very well.

Pastor Judy Lee is remembering Sievers as an angel, not only in death, but also in life.

“Everybody loved her. When our church members found out what happened, there was much crying on the phone.”

Sievers not only attended church at the Good Shepherd Inclusive Catholic Community of Fort Myers, but she was also one of their most active volunteers. Helping the homeless, the poor, and the disabled.

“Dr. Sievers helped us by seeing those people pro bono.”

She was also a mentor and role model to several young girls. But last week, someone murdered Sievers at her home, taking her away from the people she loved to help.

“We can’t imagine anyone targeting Teresa.”

Now, Sievers memory is living on. Her family just announced they’re donating more than $18,000 raised on a GoFundMe page to the church.

“That’s why I say she’s an angel. She was an angel in her life and through the family, now is an angel in her death,” said Lee. “We’ll always love her.”

Authorities are still looking for clues in the crime. If you have any information, you can remain anonymous by calling Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
