NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- Two suspects in the violent robbery of a senior citizen were arrested Thursday morning.

Myles Cope, 36, and Courtney Collins, 25, were arrested just before 9 a.m. at the Crestwood Suites, located off U.S. 41 in South Fort Myers.

Lee County detectives say the two violently beat up and robbed a 72-year-old man, before tying him up in his Herons Glen home.

Both are being charged initially with robbery with a firearm, false imprisonment and felony battery.

Both suspects also face the potential of additional charges of grand theft auto and aggravated battery on a victim age 65 or older.

Authorities say Cope and Collins have previous arrest records in Charlotte County.
