BONITA SPRINGS, Fla.- A local doctor, and mother of two, is being laid to rest Monday as the hunt for her killer continues.

Dr. Teresa Sievers was found murdered in her Jarvis Road home last Monday.

Family and friends are hosting a “Celebration of Life” for Teresa, at the Unity of Naples Church.

Visiting hours started at noon Monday, and will go through 2 p.m. when the funeral begins.

Family has asked for the media not to attend, so WINK News will be respecting their privacy.

On Friday, the crime scene tape that surrounded the Sievers’ family home for five days was taken down.

Two separate sources close to the investigation tell WINK News, Sievers was killed with a hammer. At this point, deputies have not arrested anyone in connection with her death.

Sievers flew back from a family vacation in Connecticut alone Sunday night, her husband and two daughters stayed behind. Sievers was known for her holistic medicine work.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office had the family home blocked off for several days.

Friday, the sheriff’s office towed away a van belonging to the family. Before it was taken, crime scene technicians dusted the vehicle for prints.

Finger print dust could also be seen on the family’s fence surrounding the home.

Several neighbors told WINK News they heard screaming the morning of the murder. One heard a man arguing, while another heard what sounded like a shrill, coming from a woman.

There are still a list of unanswered questions including a motive in the murder.

Trust WINK News to keep asking the sheriff’s office for answers.
