TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – The cost of parking at Tampa International Airport is going up.

The Tampa Bay Times reports (http://bit.ly/1ISbOYy) a consulting firm compared Tampa’s parking fees to 13 other airports around the country. Tampa ranked as one of the lowest priced airports in its size. Aviation authority members recently approved an increase in fees ranging from $1 to $5, depending on the garage.

The short-term maximum daily rate will rise by $2 to $22, long-term will be $18 a day, the economy garage will be $10 and valet parking will be $30.

Travelers can still take advantage of free parking for the first hour in the short-term garage.

The airport’s long term parking facility has closed 18 times so far this year and 22 times in 2014 because it reached capacity.
