Woman arrested for throwing kittens out car window

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (Pensacola News Journal)- At about 11:45 a.m. Friday, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an animal complaint in the area of Highway 87 and Grady Tolbert Road in Navarre.

A witness told deputies they observed a black Infinity SUV in the area throwing small kittens out of the vehicle window. It was thought about four kittens were seen being discarded along the highway as the vehicle traveled along Highway 87, according to a news release from the SRSO.

Deputies found the suspected vehicle and identified the driver as Veronica F. Gordon of Navarre, 39. During questioning, the driver admitted to the accusations. Based on the information obtained during the investigation, Gordon was arrested and taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail. She is being held on $5,000 bond.

Deputies only found one of the four kittens — estimated to be about 7 weeks old. The kitten was in poor condition and was immediately taken to a local vet for treatment. The condition of the kitten is not known at this time.

Deputies have not located the other three kittens.
