FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- It’s being called a dream turned reality! The Fort Myers Beach Fire Department finally has its own Honor Guard. Some of the firefighters in the new group are veterans. The fire captain WINK News spoke to served in the Coast Guard for six years and signed up to represent Fort Myers Beach. The Honor Guard will make it’s debut Saturday during the island’s Fourth of July parade. “We have two guys on the outside that will beholding axes, three guys in the middle holding the national colors, the state flag and the national fallen firefighter flag and our commander behind us,” said Captain Michael Brown with Fort Myers Beach Fire. The parade starts at 10 a.m.
