MGN RAIFORD, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say they’ve arrested two prison guards in connection with a large-scale pain pill distribution ring at Florida State Prison. The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office reports that corrections officer Dylan Hilliard was arrested June 11 after detectives purchased Oxycodone from him. Maj. Charles Combs was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with distribution of the drugs in the prison. Authorities say Hilliard purchased large amounts of the drug from people with prescriptions and then sold the drugs. Combs was fired after his arrest and is being held on $450,000 bail. Hilliard resigned. The Florida Times-Union (http://goo.gl/evMSXk ) reports that the sheriff’s office identified 81 others in the investigation, including numerous Florida Department of Corrections employees, who have been suspended from active duty. Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith said the FDOC cooperated with the investigation.
