BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a mysterious murder. Teresa Sievers, a doctor and mother of two, was found dead in her home Monday.

Deputies now confirm this is a homicide and are warning people in the area to remain vigilant.

Investigators first discovered the body Monday morning at the home on Jarvis Road, near East Terry Street. A quiet community, not known for crime.

Our partners at the News-Press spoke with the victim’s sister Tuesday. She says Sievers was in Connecticut with her husband and two daughters for a family gathering.

Sievers flew home alone Sunday night and called her husband to tell him she arrived safely. That was the last time he heard from her.

WINK News spoke with neighbors who say they heard screams coming from Sievers’ home early Monday morning. Deputies arrived on scene a few hours later.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone in the area who may have seen or heard anything, to contact them.
