PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – A local business had the personal information stolen for hundreds of people, including driver licenses, Social Security numbers and bank records. Kree Kirkman, owner of DK Real Estate MGMT says private information for nearly 400 people is now in the wrong hands. Last week, someone broke into his home office in Punta Gorda. Six years worth of renter’s private information is now gone from the management company’s shelves. “All the people who just sent applications with all their information. Their Social Security, their criminal history, who they’re married too, who they’re living with, their children’s names, their driver’s license information, their past employment information, their pet information. Everything is stolen,” said Kirkman. Michael Marchese is one of the victims. “It’s my ID, it’s what you hear all over the news. That they’re stealing your Social Security card, your license, taking your credit, taking your money out of your bank. We’re afraid now, that they might take our truck, you know, they can take anything that we own,” said Marchese. If you believe your information could be at risk, contact the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at 941-639-2101.
