CAPE CORAL, Fla.- A career burglar has been sentenced to 30 years for a long list of charges including burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

Justin Gagliardi, 36, is now listed as a habitual felony offender, and must provide a DNA sample.

Gagliardi also faced charges for defrauding a pawnbroker and multiple probation violations.

Police say Gagliardi and an accomplice were arrested on a residential burglary in December 2014.

Investigation revealed that Gagliardi was also connected to a residential burglary the month before, during which over $30,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.

Fingerprints tied Gagliardi and his accomplice to pawn tickets used to pawn jewelry taken in the earlier burglary at two different pawn shops.

Witnesses also identified Gagliardi as pawning the stolen goods. The jewelry from that burglary was pawned less than 24 hours after it was stolen.

“We couldn’t have done this without victims and witnesses stepping up and cooperating in this case,” said Det. Sergeant Dana Coston. “As a result, this burglar will be off the streets for a very long time to come.”
