NAPLES, FL – Nearly a dozen patrol cars swarmed a portion of Radio Road, with guns drawn Collier County deputies arrested two men they say stole hundreds of dollars of FPL wire.

Deputies say it was Randy Tanner and Shawn Usher who stole the wire from an FPL substation in Naples. A 911 caller says workers spotted the men stealing and saw them drive away.

Caller: “My guys are confronting them now and we have had the one arrested out of there before. I am almost positive it is him. We are at the point, they have taken hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of wire. They are hitting the trucks hard. We lost about a $5,000 reel of wire last night.”

Deputies tracked the men along radio road and with the men in cuffs, deputies popped the truck revealing hundreds of dollars worth of wire. Reports show metal and wire was stolen off Pike Utility trucks. The trucks were contracted and working out of the FPL substation.
