Bubble Room to appear on Food Network

CAPTIVA ISLAND, Fla. – The world famous Bubble Room restaurant on Captiva, is once again in the national spot light as they make an appearance on the Food Networks “Craziest Restaurants in America.”

Featured in an episode titled “Weird, Weirder and Weirdest,” the show will feature the unique and eclectic decor of the restaurant as well their famous food, including the orange crunch cake and flaming cheese.

Built in 1979, the Bubble Room has been a staple of Southwest Florida for 36 years and features five dining rooms on three levels, seating 160 at full capacity. The walls, ceilings, tables and anywhere in between are filled with more than 3,000 pictures and antique toys.    

Besides the atmosphere, the Bubble Room is probably best know for their giant cakes. 11 in all, the restaurant goes through hundreds of cakes in a day and more than 100 of the orange crunch in a day, their most popular.

The Bubble Room is open every day, except Christmas from 11:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.- 9 p.m. located at 15001 Captiva Drive.
