Published: Updated:

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The controversial textbook debate continues. Parents will make their voice heard about what kids are reading in the classroom.

The Lee County School District has had numerous formal objections about what is and is not in their kids school textbooks. The biggest target is a history book, some parents say it leaves out important pieces of world history.

Parents are demanding a change in Lee County Schools. The Lee County School Board has received 16 formal objections about the list of textbooks they hope to use.

Two revolutionary figures, Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin have been removed from the sixth grade world history book published by Pearson.

One formal complaint says the book promotes a pro-Islam agenda and it over shadows other religions.
