LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Elections supervisor Sharon Harrington withdrew her request for hundreds of new iPads at polling places. Harrington wanted nearly $900,000 to buy the new equipment because the current iPads aren’t compatible with the system. The current pads do not communicate wirelessly with the voter registration at headquarters meaning a worker might have to call in to verify a voter with a new address or name. The elections office will use the current pads bought for $750,000 less than two years ago in the upcoming election. Harrington also agreed to an operational audit of her office.
