Sanibel police arrest man for burglary, indecent exposure

SANIBEL, Fla.- Police arrested a man accused of exposing himself and committing at least three lewd acts.

It took police more than a year to catch Jeffrey Cranston.

Sanibel police confirm Cranston’s wife turned him in and they were able to partially identify him through DNA police had collected.

After a year of searching for him, Cranston was booked into the Lee County Jail over the weekend.

There were three separate incidents and after every one, police say Cranston was able to get away.

Last April, police say Cranston broke into two Sanibel homes and committed lewd acts in front of a 13-year-old girl and a 55-year-old woman.

According to authorities, he then broke into a 15-year-old girl’s room and touched her back side.

WINK News learned Cranston is from Indiana. He faces burglary and indecent exposure charges.
