MGN MIAMI (AP) – Police say a 19-year-old man turned himself in a week after shooting at two undercover officers after they made contact with him in a known drug-trafficking area. Jonathan Gilbert was arrested late Monday and is being held without bond. Gilbert is charged with two counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. Miami-Dade police say the officers were working a robbery intervention detail on June 9 when they saw Gilbert outside a home. The officers were in an unmarked car when they made contact with Gilbert, who started shooting. As they fled, he continued to fire. No one was injured. Det. Daniel Ferrin says it’s not clear whether Gilbert knew they were officers. But they were wearing vests clearly marked as Miami-Dade police.
