Body of Marine killed in crash arrives in SWFL

FORT MYERS, Fla.- A local Marine is back home after being killed in a motorcycle crash in North Carolina.

Lance Corporal Raymond Alvarez was hit and killed on May 31 when an SUV pulled out into his path.

His flag draped casket arrived at Southwest Florida International Airport Tuesday night.

The 23-year-old joined the Marine Corp in 2014 and was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

His personal awards included the National Defense and Global War on Terrorism medals.

Alvarez’s funeral will be Friday at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Myers.
