Fort Myers High School graduate Brendon Sanger was drafted by the Angels with the last pick of the fourth round. Sanger was the 135th pick overall at the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft. The right-fielder was the Conference USA Player of the Year after batting .370 with 7 home runs and 48 RBI as a junior for Florida Atlantic.

Sanger played in all 61 games in leading the Owls (42-19) to the NCAA Tournament. Sanger had an incredible .492 on base percentage during his junior season. He tells WINK Sports he plans to forego his senior season and sign with the Angels.
