Fighting brush fires in the northwest Cape

UPDATE 10:10 p.m. – The fires are 100 percent contained and burned a total of 110 acres. One fire crew will remain on scene tonight to check for hotspots and possible flare-ups.

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Firefighters from Cape Coral Fire Department along with crews from the North Strike Team and the Florida Fire Service are battling multiple fires that broke out after a storm north of Jacaranda Parkway. The largest fire is over 5 acres at this time. Firefighters expect to be working these fires throughout the evening.

No homes are in danger at this time. We have a crew on the scene and Trust WINK News to bring you more on this breaking story.
