NAPLES, Fla.,- It’s National Donut Day! For those who love the sweet treat, donut shops around Southwest Florida are giving YOU a free donut. WINK News was at “Peace, Love & Little Donuts all morning. The crew there made over 1,200 of their popular donuts. Kara Barefoot, the owner of the shop says this was their busiest day ever. Peace, Love & Little Donuts gave away a Cinnamon Sugar donut with the purchase of a donut. Now, National Donut Day is not a made up day. The Salvation Army started this 78 years ago to honor the men and women who served donuts to the soldiers in World War I.
