FORT MYERS, Fla.- Collier County is seeking assistant coaches for its 2015 standup paddle season.

The season runs until October 18, with practices scheduled on Thursdays from 5 p.m- 6:30 p.m.

Assistant coaches do not need to be experts in the sport. Basic standup paddle abilities and a willingness to work with athletes with intellectual disabilities will qualify you to help our program. All assistant coaches must complete the Special Olympics Florida Class A volunteer application, which includes a background check.

If you can spare an hour and a half a week and have experience with standup paddle, you are just what we are looking for. To volunteer, please contact the Special Olympics office by email at socc@comcast.net or by phone 239-775-1991.

There is a fundraising event on June 6 that will benefit our Special Olympics Florida – Collier County standup paddle team. For more information, click here.
