FMPD searching for suspect, vehicle in morning shooting

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Police are investigating an early morning shooting at an apartment complex off Broadway Avenue.

The Fort Myers Police Department says around 6:32 a.m., a man fired a weapon from a Jeep Cherokee into the apartment.

The suspect then fled the parking lot onto Broadway Avenue. There were no injuries during the incident.

Authorities are searching for 28-year-old Mark Kentrell Gardner of Georgia as a suspect in the shooting.

Police describe Gardner as being approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, and is said to have a strong southern accent.

The Jeep Cherokee Gardner is believed to be driving has dark tinted windows.
