New way to buy food in bulk comes to Southwest Florida

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Zaycon Fresh is coming to Southwest Florida, offering a new way for people to buy food in bulk.

Zaycon offers its items online, as consumers can order and pay for foods.

It then delivers foods in trucks to specific locations on set days, for pick-up.

Next week, Zaycon is bringing 40-pound boxes of boneless chicken breasts to the area, at a price of $1.69 a pound.

Zaycon says its foods are fresh, only four to five days from the farm to consumer.

Some traditional grocery store shoppers in this area, are skeptical.

Nate Ryan of Cape Coral tells WINK News “I would prefer to buy meats at a store, where I can see the product before I buy. I would have some questions about the freshness issue.”

Zaycon says it has half a million customers nationwide, and it stands behind the freshness of all its foods.

The company is sending trucks to Port Charlotte and Naples on Tuesday, June 2, and Fort Myers on June 3.
