Military tribute banners honor Cape Coral resident’s Air Force son

CAPE CORAL, Fla.- A banner is making a local mom very proud. Her son is serving in the Air Force and is featured on one of the military tribute banners lining Cape Coral Parkway.

“It’s like yeah baby! Go baby!”

It’s safe to say Cape Coral Parkway is Carol Davis’ favorite road.

“It means a great deal to see that smiling face up there,” said Davis.

That’s because her son, Jason Davis, is featured on one of the military tribute banners proudly lining the parkway.

“They broke the mold when they made this one.”

In an emotional moment, Davis salutes her Air Force son. But, what’s even more fitting, this mother says her son’s banner hangs in the perfect location.

“My son loves Starbucks, so for it to be in front of Starbucks, it’s so cool!”

Davis comes from a military family. Her dad, brother and uncle were in the Navy and her husband served in the Army and Army Reserves.

“I have a picture of me sitting on his B-52 Bomber airplane,” Davis told WINK News.

Davis got another surprise when she found out Florida Skin Center is sponsoring her son’s banner.

“It happens to be my skin doctor, so I have to go there and give them an extra thank you!”

“Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation” started the program after the City of Cape Coral approved it. For more information on sponsoring a banner called the Cape Coral Military Museum at 239-541-8704.
