LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Authorities are looking for a man who passed off a phony check for more than $480 at a local supermarket.

Detectives say the suspect went on a hefty shopping spree at the Publix store, located on Fiddlesticks Boulevard, last month.

After making his purchases, the customer wrote a check for $487.23, using what is believed to be a fraudulent Florida driver license.

Then man left the store unquestioned, however several days later, the check was returned as fraudulent.

Using surveillance video from the store, managers were able to narrow down images of the customer in question, and now investigators are hoping someone will recognize him.

Anyone with information on the fraudulent shopper is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.swflcrimestoppers.org or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.
