LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Harry Chapin Food Bank is currently going through all of your donations from the Letter Carriers “Stamp out Hunger” Food Drive.

Volunteers worked to sort out all the food Thursday, looking at the ingredients list and expiration dates.

The food bank has about 30 volunteers per day, but they’d like to get to 50 and are asking for your help.

“We just need volunteers to come in and sort it all now in order for us to get it to those who need it,” said Tonya Philips, manager of volunteers.

The food bank says this drive is vital to fill the need through the summer because school lunches aren’t available for everyone and snow birds go north, leading to a drop in donations.
