FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- Days after a massive explosion and fire on Fort Myers Beach, friends of the victims are reaching out to help.

A woman’s body was found in the rubble. Tuesday, her friends returned to the duplex to pay their respects.

WINK News confirmed one of the victims who made it out alive is in good condition at a Tampa hospital.

“The raw emotion is obviously unexplainable when it comes to a person of this caliber,” said John Heim.

Fort Myers Beach is left heart broken after the deadly fire Sunday night.

“It was pretty tough, to be quite honest with you, to actually wrap your head around what was actually happening,” said Heim.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has not officially confirmed who was found in the debris, but, locals say the person found is Joanne Finney.

“She was a little freewheeling, free spirit and she lived her life to the fullest extend every day,” said Deborah Dunlap.

In the midst of all the rubble, WINK News saw a name tag on part of a mailbox reading “Joanne Finney.”

“We are so blessed to have known ‘Jo’ for so long and we are going to miss her deeply,” said Dunlap.

People have been laying flowers outside of what’s left of the duplex on Estero Boulevard for their friend “Jo.”

“I came out to plant a little plant at my friend’s house because I miss her terribly.”

A report released by the sheriff’s office says Finney’s neighbors Paul Harmon, also known as Pauly and Carol Wilkins have burns to the lower parts of their bodies. Wilkins’ injuries are severe.

Harmon’s burns are minor and he was released from the hospital hours after the fire

On June 2nd, the Beached Whale will be holding a fundraiser for Harmon, a restaurant employee.

Tuesday night, deputies are still keeping an eye on what’s left of the house. Monday, fire investigators ruled the cause of this fire “undetermined” because it was so charred.
