Woman okay after car nearly rolls into canal

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash, after a car nearly rolled into a canal in Lehigh Acres.

The accident happened Sunday morning at Lee Boulevard and Williams Avenue.

According to the driver of the car, she was sitting at the light when she was hit from behind. She said the gas pedal locked up sending her car straight towards a canal.

The car came to a stop sideways on the canal bank. Fortunately, no one was injured.
