FORT MYERS, Fla.- The stop signs along Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard are gone at a Fort Myers intersection.

Thursday morning, the city removed them near the Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard and Canal Street intersection.

Still, many cars didn’t realize the stop signs were no longer there.

The city said it’s simply a numbers game, not enough traffic on both streets.

A city spokesman said they were originally studying the intersection to see if they needed a traffic light but they discovered traffic needed to move.

For now, those who drive through through the intersection say they’ll have an adjustment period.
