CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Police are investigating whether a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle is connected to another crime spree in a nearby neighborhood.

The suspects first smashed into gates of Mariner High School Thursday morning, then they took off.

The car later rolled over and crashed down the street near Northwest 19th Terrace and Chiquita Boulevard.

Police have spent the day at the home of one suspects on Northwest 10th Avenue. Detectives are waiting on warrants to find out if the two suspects are responsible for a rash of break-ins in the neighborhood.

“I think it couldn’t be more obvious but of course they can’t until they find some sort of property that links it together,” said Jade Elias who lives nearby.

Her car was broken into early Sunday morning and she wants to find out who’s responsible.

“I want to see their face, I would really like to talk to somebody and say I won’t press charges on you, give me my money back,” said Elias.
