LEE COUUNTY, Fla.- Jury selection is underway in the sexual assault trial of Richard McDade. This is McDade’s second trial. Florida’s Supreme Court threw out his 2012 conviction because prosecutors played secret recordings from his alleged victim. Brenda Salais spoke with WINK News, asking that we tell her story. She says it’s painful to have to give her testimony all over again. “This is the worst abuse ever, it stays with you forever,” said Salais. The judge told jurors Tuesday he expects the trial to last about three days. McDade is facing five counts of sexual assault, battery and solicitation of a minor.
