NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed one and sent two to the the hospital Tuesday Morning. Witnesses tell WINK News that a blue Mustang was traveling at a high rate speed Northbound on US 41 when it struck the drivers side of a silver Honda, killing the driver on impact. A third car was also struck when the silver Honda was flown out into traffic. FHP detectives are investigating to determine if speed was a contributing factor in the deadly crash. All vehicles only had one occupant inside, both remaining drivers were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injures. FHP anticipates US 41 at Evergreen Road could be closed for several hours as investigators work and clean up the scene. If speed is ruled a cause of the crash, the driver of the blue Mustang could face serious criminal charges.
