Naples Zoo hosts Endangered Species Day

NAPLES, Fla. – The Naples Zoo will celebrate Endangered Species Day this Saturday, May 16 to bring awareness to animals endangered in the wild. Some of those animals now call the Naples Zoo home.

This is the 10th anniversary for Endangered Species Day, with an overall goal of educating the public on the importance of protecting rare, threatened, and endangered plant and animal species. Zoo staff, will also work to educate people on ways they can help and support endangered animals in the wild.

Guests will be able to see the zoo’s endangered animals including their Malayan tigers, cheetahs, leopards, and cotton-top tamarins. As well as learn more about the Florida Panther and the new Florida Panther exhibit scheduled to open in June.

The Naples Zoo will also honor Armed Forces Day, by giving current and former military members free admission Friday, May 15 through Monday, May 18, guests in their party also receive $2 off zoo admission.
