CAPE CORAL, Fla.- The cause of an explosion that forced dozens of people to evacuate from a community Friday night remains a mystery.

Neighbors tell WINK News a man identified as Justin McHenry was seriously hurt.

The blast shook the Porto Vista community, just off of Del Prado Boulevard and US 41.

Three days after the explosion, the apartment is boarded up.

Cape Coral police have not released much information, but neighbors still want an answer to what caused the blast around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Unit 101 is now off limits, after the blast blew out the windows and screen door.

Cape Coral police, the FBI, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and multiple other agencies responded to the scene.

McHenry remains at Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
